Peer review services performed by Schlenner Wenner & Co. are a service we provide to other CPA Firms. Our profession is concerned with the quality of services and addresses this concern in a number of ways. One of the ways this is addressed is through peer review. Membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) requires a Firm and its professional staff to undergo an inspection by a peer with the objective of reporting on the quality control system of the firm.
When we perform a peer review, we inspect the CPA Firm files and conduct interviews. We address the five elements of a CPA Firm quality control. We also provide, in a manner similar to a financial audit of a company, an opinion on whether the Firms adherence to their quality control standards and the professional standards established by the AICPA and others is proper.
Schlenner Wenner & Co. also has a Firm perform a peer review of our audit and accounting functions. We continue to receive unqualified assurance on our peer review.
